In the past, federal code required that all commercial fire alarm systems operate with a primary and secondary phone line to ensure transmission in the event of an emergency. This resulted in paying for two separate dedicated phone line charges each month. In some instances, this amounted to more than $150 each month.
It operates by transmitting your fire alarm signal information over a secure radio network to the monitoring center. It is approved and certified by local, state and federal authorities including the Underwriters Laboratories. Never pay for dedicated phone line charges again.
